In the 1400's, when armies lay in ruins, commanders would send a lone messenger on a gauntlet run home with hopes of reaching reinforcements.

These messengers braved incredibly hostile territory and natural elements, predatory animals, lack of food and water, and bloody encounters with the enemy. It was the success or failure of these messengers that determined the fate of wars.

This is the story of one such messenger on his return home, the story of the fears he faces: both natural... and unnatural.
