PHOTOGRAPHY
Photography, while it can be done in a
studio with a crew, is ultimately a very personal
art that centers on the relationship of
photographer and subject (whether that subject is
human, nature, architecture, etc.). I think that
was one of the main draws for me in learning
photography--not to mention that it's an offshoot
of the required cinematographical studies almost
any film student has to take.
But it's this profound connection with
what's in the still-camera's frame--much more so
than the constantly moving and changing nature of
the cinema frame, not to mention other technical
aspects such as sound--that lured me to this
great hobby.
